Antibiotic Resistance 

Antibiotic resistance displayed by pathogens is increasing in incidence and severity. In order to help combat this rising pandemic Catalyst has created a thorough panel that tests for 36 genes associated with antibiotic resistance across 9 antibiotic groups. Detecting the presence of a resistance gene allows a provider to prescribe alternate antibiotics so the infection is treated correctly, the first time. The detection of a resistance gene does not neccesarilly imply it is active, however. In addition to the detection of the gene full sensitivity testing will occur via culture to confirm the gene is in an active state. Combining these two technologies ensures the quick resolution of any infection for the patient.

Urinary Tract Infections

We have designed a comprehensive panel consisting of 27 pathogens that encompass both frequently and infrequently found microbiota in acute or chronic infections. Our extensive antibiotic resistance panel is available to added to the panel to give full insight into the nature of the infection and to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Sexually Transmitted Infections

Our STI panel contains bacterial, parasitic and viral pathogenic microbiota. A total of 11 targets can be detected by this assay via swab or urine for easy collection.

Respiratory Pathogen Panel

Catalyst's respiratory molecular panel contains 30 microrganisms, both viral and bacterial, that are associated with respiratory illness.

Women's Health

Women's health testing is a vital part of a patient's care. Our vaginitis/vaginosis panel contains targets that can differentiate between bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and Trichomonas vaginalis.
